“The Open Day”, free course has been launched by Space Imaging Middle East Company, which operates in Dubai, and it’s well known in space imaging field. A group of employees from different departments of Dubai Municipality participated in the course first session. Mohd Al Zaffin, Director of Dubai GIS Center said, “This four hours course helped DM’s employees to understand and identify the applications that are offered by the center.

He added, “ The course was aimed to train non specialists in GIS field, to develop their knowledge in space imaging and its uses. Participants were chosen from different departments, which use space-imaging applications, and developing these applications is one of the GIS center’s concerns. These applications are published on the intranet in order to be used by other departments like: Environment department, Drainage & Irrigation department and planning section at the Planning & Survey department.
