Dubai Municipality has announced the final programme for the 2nd annual conference and exhibition for Map Middle East 2006 "MME 2006". This was announced in a press conference on Sunday, which was addressed by Mohammed Abdulla Al Zaffin, Director of Dubai GIS Center.
The conference would be held at Dubai Trade Center from 26 to 29 March 2006.The conference is being held under patronage of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance and Industry and Chairman of Dubai Municipality,. The conference, which will be held under the banner 'Geospatial for All - All for Geospatial', is jointly organized by Dubai Municipality and GIS Development (India) and it would embrace on all aspects of addressing 'Geospatial for All - All for Geospatial' in the context of present demands and fast-paced technological changes.
The conference will have a comprehensive programme that will feature stimulating keynotes from eminent professionals; technical sessions, tracks, workshops, and training sessions on the geospatial technologies and their applications. The forum will provide ample opportunities for networking during the event. It will be a platform where the government, the industry, the research community and the users will come together to listen and discuss the benefits of geospatial technologies for public services. Geospatial technology is fast evolving as an important tool for various application segments. Owing to the diversified applications of geospatial techniques, its usage as a 'Public Utility Tool' is being established worldwide. Middle East, in particular, has been a leading region in accepting geospatial technologies as a 'public utility tool'. Further, geospatial tools have the potential to become an enabling platform for a wide range of application needs of citizens belonging to the various nations of the region. In view of the relevance of geospatial technology as public utility tool, Map Middle East 2006 will have its theme as "Geospatial for All and All for Geospatial". It will explore manners and ways in which geospatial tools can reach out to citizens and benefit them in future. The conference Sub Themes include National Security, Governance, Infrastructure, and Land Administration.
