GIS CENTER has successfully participated in the WETEX 2004, Water & Energy Technology & Environment Exhibition, held during the period from the 22nd to the 24th of March 2004. GIS Center presented to the community its experiences concerning GIS playing roll in decision making of environmental, water and energy aspects as much as others, by announcing, practically showing the usefulness, ease of use and accessibility of the new version of explore Dubai.

GIS Center also participated in the seminar of the same exhibition, by presenting a paper named as Hydrological assessments & GIS Usages of Remote Sensing For Dubai Emirate, through which a practical example was presented showing the Municipality’s experience in implementing GIS and Remote Sensing for the assessment of groundwater status within the Emirate of Dubai, as much as showing the use of satellite raster data by GIS Center and the technology behind supplying it to users through the internet.
