Achieved objectives & results:

 

Results made by the centre can be shown through the comparison between the situation before the centre’s establishment and after it, whereas 100% of the aimed objectives were achieved.

 

In case you were requested to establish a geographical/civilized information system, what are the steps you will follow in the future and what are the steps you will avoid from your previous experience?

 

  1. Composing a technical expert staff to undertake the determination and the classification of first sources for geographical information.

  2. Coordinating between the administrations to identify the needs and the information size and what are the changes.

  3. According to the analysis and the study of the municipal administrations tasks and governmental divisions, it also comprised systems’ analysis, equipments, and its qualified technical staff along with the future requirements for each one of it so the data base is linked to geographical information systems.

  4. The staff sets up an operational plan comprising each of: staff, equipments and tools, information and programs, as well as training employees in order to execute and run the plans within the centre.

  5. Undertaking standard comparisons with the best practices, and the study of many experiences and international sites.

  6. Setting descriptions and technical standards for the projects within the centre including the infrastructure (central computers, networks and programs) according to technical standards for the electronic government in the emirate of Dubai.

  7. Undertaking projects’ review done by the centre and apply modifications and improvements as well as setting the budget and the final expenses thereof.

  8. Undertake various auctions in order to provide an infrastructure from central computers and tools that use many operational systems provided that it complies with standards and measures followed by the electronic government in the emirate of Dubai.

  9. The staff concludes contracts with many importing companies in order to vary the equipments sources and the programs but not to make the maintenance exclusive, while establishing long term partnership relations.

  10. Establishment, operating, and managing the Servers unit along with the Database Servers with have a large stock capacity and high proficiency in Scalable so it can gather all geographical data of the emirate and provides as well alternative copies of data necessary for ensuring its safety next to an alternative infrastructure to face any emergency that may occur around the

Collecting and classifying geographical data in a comprehensive complete database, and setting the following standards: (a) Digital Data Delivery Standards, where it can be checked, updated and circulated according to a clear methodology. (b) Circulating a unified adopted coordinates system within Dubai emirate DLTM. (c) Following a definite strategy in order to provide a technique for lifting proficiency and continuous improvement through: ensuring the geographical data update, efficiency in getting it back from its sources, by connecting it with the productive divisions which use it. (d) Providing an easy application window that comprises many soft and efficient tools in order to ask for explanation, analyze and show the results on a map and printing it, with the possibility to update the data in a proficient way, whereas many beneficiaries were trained and habilitated in municipal administrations in sessions and internal workshops given by expert trainers.

  12. An operational test for systems according to the following bases: (a) Use of tools and system tasks. (b) System ability to contain the high reoccurrence of beneficiaries. (c) Maintaining confidentiality and information safety an protecting it from any interference.

  13. Undertaking tested operation for any developed system of administrations, to take opinions, notes, and additional needs and getting familiar with a person’s weaknesses and advantages.

  14. Submitting the system to continuous improvement and development according to the beneficiaries’ notes so the improvement is followed though statistics, electronic links that can expect the future needs of the beneficiaries.
