About Us

The Dubai GIS Center was created in February 2001, by Dubai Municipality, with the goal of creating a central repository of geographic information of the Emirate of Dubai that would provide spatial data and GIS related services to departments of Dubai Municipality, other government organizations of the Emirate, and the private sector. The Center's mandate, as the sole official source of certain geographic information and services, is described in Law No. 6, 2001 issued by His Highness Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the late Ruler of Dubai.
